Is the Platoo-Contact operable over web (in Internet) and how ?
It is. Availability of fast enough permanent connection is presumed therefore. For securing the traffic between the client and server computers, use of so called security line is required additionally: SSL or other similar.
We have tested the security tunneling software ZeBeDee. It enables additionally compression of data which improves essentially the program’s operability in case of a slower connection. There is an article that describes using ZeBeDee with Firebird: http://www.ibphoenix.com/resources/documents/how_to/doc_301.

Platoo-Contact and firewalls ?
Interbase/Firebird SQL Server uses by default TCP port 3050. So in client side this port should be enabled for outgoing traffic and in server side for incoming traffic.
Windows XP SP2 - there is an article that describes configuring firewall for InterBase/Firebird: http://edn.embarcadero.com/article/32532

How to configure telephony (TAPI) link?
To use TAPI interface with Platoo-Contact, first install and configure your telephony device and TAPI driver for this device. Then configure Platoo-Contact to use this driver in "Settings", "Telephony (TAPI) Settings":
* From "TAPI Lines" list select a line (lines) that matches to your installed driver (device).
* Handle Outgoing Calls - when checked, Platoo-Contact will run as primary telephony application (will handle outgoing call requests from other applications). Otherwise Platoo-Contact acts only as a call monitor and you can use some other application (Windows Phone Dialer etc) for call handling.
